Iām Adding Scheduled & Drip Courses š
I walk through the new course options in the builder: self-paced, scheduled, and relative. I explain how scheduled courses start on a specific date and then release content on a set schedule. I also cover relative (drip) courses, where modules unlock over time based on when each member enrolls.

Hey guys and welcome back to Swarm Bytes. Now this month, we have quite a few big updates that have been on the roadmap for a while. First one is scheduled and drip courses are now here. So let me show you how that works. So if you're in your course builder, you click new course, and you'll now see that you can pick between self-paced, scheduled, and relative. Now self-paced is what we've had, uh, since the beginning. We've now released the scheduled course functionality, which means you can set your course to kick off on a specific date and then content is released on a schedule after that date. So I'll show you how that works. The other option is relative, which is when a member enrols, you can then set a sequence of modules that are dripped out to them over a period of time. So we start by showing you how scheduled works. So you click scheduled, you'll obviously be give, you'll be able to give your course a name, um, and a description. I'll just say test. And now there's a new feature here where you can set your course start date. So I'm gonna just set this up to start from tomorrow. Uh, obviously you can do the section and your cover images and everything. I will now just leave those as default and create the course. It'll be in draught mode. And you'll see now, I can add the module like before, but when I add a module, there's now an option here to set the drip date for this module. So you can say, I want this first module to go out immediately, once the course kicks off, or one day after the course start date or two days after. So I'll just say 2 days after, uh, I call this the welcome module. You can see that this is now available on April 20th, because we know that the start date, uh, of the course was set up over here to be on April 18th. So that's how you set up scheduled courses. Now if I go back into my course from here, obviously it's still in draught mode. I can also, um, I can see here that it's gonna start in one day and it runs from that period until that period. Uh, obviously the end date looks at when the last module is dripped out to determine what the end date is, but I can also change this. So if I wanna go to course settings and rather just make this a relative course. This will then mean that these modules are released relative to when that student enrols. So I can go ahead and make that change right now. It changes it and obviously once the student enrols, they'll then be dripped out or drip fed those modules. The next update is the ability to embed interactive components into your course lessons. So if I go back to this course that I'm building here, and I go into my lesson, which is over here. You'll see we now have this embed option that has an embed script. So I can embed any script for any interactive component I like. So I'm gonna come in here and I'm gonna use H5P, uh, which has a component here called a multiplication quiz. So I can just go here, I click embed, grab that code. And I can stick that into my course. So I'm just gonna put that in there, add the script, and there you can see that that is now available and it's super interactive. Next up, we have the ability to create recurring events. This was high up on the roadmap for a long time as well. And, uh, super simple to set up. Just go to your events, click add new events, and like before, pick between your different event types. I'm just gonna say a recurring test. And I can come down here to future date and I can now say it repeats never, daily, weekly, every 2 weeks, etc. Uh, so I can say it's gonna repeat daily or I'll say weekly on a Friday. I want this course to, this, um, event to repeat. It never ends and, um, that's it. So it'll start today and now you'll see on your calendar, uh, repeating events in the future. Next up, we have the ability to go live in DMs and private groups. Uh, so I can now speak to this particular member live by just clicking this button on the top right. So it'll set up a private room for you and that person to speak, and you just click meet live now and it'll redirect you both into that live room. So it makes it really easy if you wanna go from asynchronous to a synchronous conversation. Also really useful if you have a private group. And rather than creating a new event every time and selecting your group members, you can now just go from a private group or a DM into a live call straight away. The last update that I wanna share with you now is the ability to do a, a screen share with different layouts. Uh, and I'm gonna create a new post. So if I hit record, And I changed this obviously to share your screen. I'm just gonna basically share this page over here. Uh, if I jump back, you'll see that we've now changed the layout, the default layout to be a circle. Similar to how Loom does it. Um, you can obviously reposition yourself on the screen. You can also change the shape now of your particular camera view. So go square, go rectangle, whatever you like, you can now have complete control over the shape and the position of your live recording. Uh, and what's coming soon is we're still working on anonymous posts, hoping to have that available, uh, maybe this quarter. The AI chat agent, uh, and we're looking to introduce the ability for you to offer a referral programme to your members. So you'll be able to reward your members for referring other people to your space or to your store. So we think that'll be a great way to drive growth for your memberships.
